Job Summary

  • Dates: June 29 - July 31st (with the exception of July 3rd)
  • Time:  7:45am - 3:00pm. 
  • Location: Staff at High Jump will on site at one of three campuses 
    • University of Chicago Lab Schools (5835 South Kimbark Ave, Chicago, IL 60637) 
    • Latin School of Chicago (59 W North Blvd, Chicago, IL 60610)
    • Francis W. Parker (330 W Webster Ave, Chicago, IL 60614)
  • Training Dates: 
    • June 15 - June 18th (Virtual) 
    • June 23rd - 24th (In-person)
  • Required Professional Development for High Jump Staff: 
    • June 25 - 26th (tentative)
The Campus Clinician should be a certified School Psychologist, School Counselor or Social Worker that will play a vital role in providing mental health support and counseling services to students participating in our summer program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology or counseling, with experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings. This is a temporary position for the duration of the summer program. 

The Campus Clinician will be;
  • Initiate opportunities to collaborate and problem-solve with High Jump Staff regarding student concerns
  • Maintain organized documentation and records of student check-ins.
  • Prioritize high-risk situations (e.g., crisis), and communicate with appropriate individuals in a timely manner (e.g., Case Manager, Parent).
  • Provide case-by-case services ranging from individual counseling, identification and assessment, interventions, crisis intervention, and support for navigating referrals for community services.  
  • Organize educational opportunities (e.g., groups, lessons, discussions) surrounding topics that will develop competencies to serve the student in all contexts.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for supporting students' mental health and well-being.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff on best practices for promoting positive mental health in the classroom.
